Bear Action

Margot just sent me this photo of a Humpie (Oncorhynchus gorbuscha) torn apart by a bear at 10 mile. You can actually see where the Brownie (Ursus arctos) bit the brains out first because that their favorite part of the fish. Not mine though!

Candle Fish

My friend Emma showed up the other day with some Eulachon (Thaleichthys pacificus), otherwise know as the candle fish. Can we smoke them in your smoker she asked? She started the fire then left for 4 hours and let me tend to the darn thing. After numerous people showed up, left, came back, they were done after 13 hours of smoking. Tonight were going to can them. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!
